Annual Christmas Tree Appeal raises £2000

There was a delayed Christmas present for Lanarkshire Charity, The Haven Centre, as they received over £2000 from their annual Christmas Tree Appeal.

The Lanarkshire based charity offers tailored support and guidance for those facing life debilitating illnesses.

Their Christmas Tree Appeal, which was disseminated to organisations throughout Lanarkshire, involves partners making a donation to the Appeal then tagging their name to the Haven Christmas tree.

MSP for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse, Christina McKelvie, supported the appeal for the second year running.

Commenting, Christina said:

“Once again, I was delighted to support the Christmas Tree Appeal from the Haven, helping  families throughout my constituency and beyond.

“I have always supported The Haven throughout my time as an MSP – the work they do is nothing short of inspirational.

“It was a privilege to take the appeal into the Scottish Parliament and I thank all my parliamentary colleagues for donating to the Haven’s most worthy cause.

David Henson, fundraiser for the Haven Centre, added:

“Our annual appeal has broken barriers again and will be a real life-line for those who use our service.

“We thank Christina for her unwavering support to our charity and for her continued fundraising on behalf of all those suffering with life debilitating illnesses”
